Ready to Move

As we begin to preparations for moving to our new place we are suddenly aware of just how much space our art supplies take up. Wow.


If you weren't already aware, the week of Christmas we'll be up and leaving our humble abode of some time and upgrading to a fancy new place with the extra space that we need to complete and display our many artistic creations. It's something that we've been wanting to do for a long time now and we've decided to start the new year off right and stop arguing over the dining room table. Never again will we fight over whether to move everything so we can sit down and eat dinner, or stand in the kitchen holding our plates in our hands. Instead we'll have an entire room, complete with it's own walk in closet, to devote solely to our art supplies, marketing supplies, finished works, and business records. We might even be able to entertain now and then.


In the meantime, it's now just a case of getting everything for the move packed up and organized to make the transition as seamless and pain-free as possible. Since it's happening so close to the holidays, busy times for both of us, the pain-free aspect may be a pipe dream, but we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Food, Art, and a Great Cause

It's always fun to combine things that you love. For example, long bubble baths and cats... well... maybe that's a bad example, but we can think of dozens of things that we love that we wouldn't mind combining for an even MORE awesome experience. Tonight we had the chance to do just that.

We cruised into a local Chili's restaurant this evening looking to satisfy a sweet tooth with a piece of Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie (if it's not illegal for tasting so good, we don't know why not), and found that they were, once again, having their "Create-A-Pepper" fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We happen to be the type of people that can find perpetual amusement when told to get creative with paper and crayons, but not everyone out there feels as we do about the artistic merits of the lowly crayon. And that's okay too, as coloring the picture is NOT compulsory. It's just a fun way of showing the world that you care enough to donate a buck (or ten) to a great organization that helps so many children in need. If you get a chance to get in and donate, have fun, eat some food, color a pepper, and send us pictures! We'd love to see your peppers.

Over and Done

Our first official exhibit of works is now over.

Last night was the final performance of CLUE at the Lakeside Community Arts Center, and after a slam bang finish to a great theatrical production it was time to collect our pieces and bring them home. We weren't lucky enough to have any sales come of it (at least as of yet) but the impact that the pieces had on several people was striking. Several cast and crew members took the time to chat with us about our pieces and the beginning of our business.

All in all it was a rewarding experience, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that they'll have us back again at a later point in time.

The Last Weekend

FYI, this upcoming weekend (Friday August 28th and Saturday August 29th) are the last two performances of an awesome theatrical production of CLUE, the ever-so-famous murder mystery comedy, at the Lakeside Community Theatre in The Colony, Texas. Check out their website for more info on the play.
